GAASTRA DRAGON WORLDS 2009 Medemblik

The World Championship Dragon sailing will take place in Medemblik (Holland) this year. The Dutch Dragon Association and the RYC Hollandia will organise the event in conjunction with the International Dragon Association.

The Dutch Dragon Association is very proud to organize the event. 2009 is the 80th birthday of the international dragon. Moreover it is the first time a World Championship is organized in Holland.

With Gaastra as title sponsor the Dutch character of the event is set. The event will take place from 3-11 September 2009. Competitors have to qualify in their own country to be able to compete in the Gaastra Dragon Worlds. The organisation expects 70 boats from approximately 17 countries. In general the competition in the Dragon Class is very strong. Especially during the World Championships many successful sailors are expected.
