Not so slick... Oil slick!

Officials monitor oil slick off sailing venue
By the Associated Press

QINGDAO, China (AP) - An oil slick spotted off the coast of the Olympic sailing venue in Qingdao will be monitored and has posed no threat to the course. "It is not in the (race) area," said Qu Chun, of Qingdao venue management, at a morning briefing. "It is still under investigation."
The official Xinhua News Agency reported an oily film had been spotted about 35 miles (55 kilometers) off the coast, and patches of oil were seen on a roughly 2-square kilometer (three-quarter square mile) area. The report said winds and currents were expected to carry the slick away from the sailing venue.
