Inshore racing cancelled due to light winds...VOR

Rick Tomlinson/Volvo Ocean Race
It was an uneventful day in Qingdao as the weather took over racing, forcing the In Port race to be postponed and eventually cancelled due light winds and as a dense fog which engulfed the city of Qingdao. The crews and crowds were kept waiting for news on whether they would be able to race. At 1300 the race office confirmed racing would happen and the four boats left the dock and headed into the fog. Racing was schedule to kick off at 1500, but as the breeze died and the fog remained the race was eventually cancelled.

Racing is now scheduled for tomorrow, weather permitting the Volvo Open 70s will be docking out at 1000 local time (GMT +8). The first possible start will be at 11.30 and there will be no start later than 14:30.
