Origin forced to pull out of race
Source: ONE Sport: Team Origin has been forced to pull out of their Louis Vuitton Pacific Series race against BMW Oracle on day two of the second round robin.

The British crew were in control of the gold fleet race but could not raise their head sail at the bottom of the second leg.

The gear problems meant that they had to withdraw and hand the victory to BMW Oracle.
Earlier both team were penalised for a collision with BMW Oracle's for hard contact as they were judged to not do everything they could to avoid a collision and thus were deducted half a point.

The Team New Zealand boats have been sent back to base for the head foil repairs.

It is expected that it will take several hours to repair the boats and they will not be able to be used for the Team New Zealand versus Luna Rossa race later on Friday aftermoon.

Instead the teams will use the two BMW Oracle boats.

The result of BMW Oracle and TeamOrigin will be subject to a jury hearing on Friday night.
At this point the race result means TeamOrigin are minus half a point as they were unable to serve their penalty and BMW Oracle has no points after winning the race but incurring a penalty.
