Our source in Valencia have reported that Russell Coutts has asked for $25 million dollars each for himself and for Brad Butterworth for the next America's Cup. Plus around the same for four prominent Kiwi sailors on Alinghi - Simon Daubney, Warwick Fleury, Dean Phipps and Murray Jones - to join Russell Coutts at BMW Oracle Racing.
While Coutts has not yet confirmed the move, it is understood contracts have been written up and are awaiting signatures at the end of this event.
